Welcome to The Miss DC's Teen Scholarship Program

Ruperta Nelson is a senior manager in systems at an AMLAW100 law firm, where she leverages her unique blend of skills developed through her diverse career. Her journey began in the performing arts, where she gained valuable experience as a musical theater actress, touring nationally with productions of Show Boat and Ragtime, as well as performing in numerous regional and local shows over the years.

Ruperta's accomplishments extend beyond the stage; she was the 1st runner-up in the Miss DC pageant in 1998, an experience that helped hone her confidence and communication skills—assets that have significantly contributed to her success in the legal field. She credits her experience in Miss DC for shaping her professional journey, allowing her to approach challenges with creativity and poise.

Tiarah William was crowned Miss DC's Teen 2023. ​She is a 14-year-old dance student at Duke Ellington. She represented the District of Columbia at the Miss America's Outstanding Teem Competition.
