Ahtra Elnashar

Ahtra Elnashar is a national political correspondent covering Congress and the White House for WJLA and its affiliated stations. Specializing in economic policy and foreign affairs, Ahtra is passionate about empowering viewers to understand issues that impact them. Before she covered the nation's capital, Ahtra started her news career in Sioux Falls, SD and Grand Rapids, MI. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a degree in journalism and political science. 


Originally from Green Bay, WI, Ahtra is a fiercely loyal Packers fan. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening and playing with her nieces. 

Shomari Stone

Stone is a 7-time Emmy winner and 2-time Edward R. Murrow award-winning journalist, coming to FOX 5 from CNBC. He was a correspondent for "The News with Shepard Smith," based at the network’s Washington, D.C. bureau. He spent over 10 years as a general assignment reporter at WRC, an NBC-owned television station in Washington, D.C.

Prior to NBC, he served as a reporter for KOMO in Seattle, CBS Miami, and WINK in Fort Myers, Florida.

Throughout his on-air career, he has reported on a multitude of high-profile stories across the country, including Hurricane Ian, the expansion of Veterans’ health care benefits, the Buffalo mass shooting, the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, the bombing at the Boston Marathon, immigration reform, the local impact of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro's relinquished power and the fall of Haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide, as well as an exclusive interview with Trayvon Martin’s parents while they were in Washington, among others.

He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he received six journalism awards. He enjoys spending time with his family, cheering for his son, Shomari Stone II on the University of Michigan Football team, playing golf, hosting charity events and galas, along with mentoring and volunteering with the youth.

Blake Hart

Blake Hart was crowned Miss DC's Teen 2025. At just 17 years old and a recent high school graduate, she is recognized for her curiosity, kindness, and drive. As a student-athlete and classical pianist, Blake founded the initiative “Ditch the Clique” to inspire connection over comparison. With over 1M views on TikTok and a passion for adventure, Blake balances her ambition with authenticity—whether she’s leading in the classroom, camping with lions, or running a standout lemonade stand. She plans to pursue a scholarship program in business, attend law school, and ultimately become a venture capitalist. Blake is dedicated to making others feel seen and supported, believing that true leadership begins with listening and uplifting others. Follow her at @maoteendc! Blake's talent: Piano.
